CMPD is engaged in diverse areas of materials research such as superconductivity, negative thermal expansion, structural stability of materials at high pressure & temperature, nanostructured materials, multiferroics, colloids and hydrogels, quantum confinement in semiconductor nanostructures, and phase transitions. In addition, development of SQUID-based sensors for Magneto encephalography (MEG) is also being pursued.
