18KW Rotating Anode X-ray generator is coupled to mar dtb to carryout in-situ high pressure XRD. Salient features of mar desk top beamline are, Pixel size 100 µm x 100 µm, Automatic alignment via remote control or host computer, Flat Plate monochromator with Mo Kα-beam from ULTRAX18-rotating anode x-ray source.

Laser Heated Diamond Anvil Cell Facility

An in-house developed high pressure high temperature facility to study materials at extremely high pressures and temperatures simultaneously. Maximum pressure is ~ 1 Mbar (100 GPa) and temperature ~ 5000 K.

High Pressure Resistivity Set-up

“Hercules”, the 500 Metric Tons press to study electrical resistivity variation with pressure and temperature. Maximum possible pressure is ~8 GPa and temperatures up to ~1000 K.

Luminescence Set-up

JY Fluorimax-3 spectrofluorimeter with optical fibre attachment to investigate solid state luminescence. Range: UV-Vis-IR

Lasers

Ar ion laser (5W), 120 W continuous wave CO2 laser and 30 W continuous Nd-YAG laser.

Ancillary Facilities

Triarc furnace, resistive heating furnaces, vacuum oven (300o C), microscopes, tabletop EDM machine, dark room facility, etc.
