Situated about 80kM south of Chennai, the state capital of Tamilnadu, Kalpakkam is well connected by bus route from Chennai and also from Pondicherry.
Chennai has airport at Meenambakkam. The trains from north terminate at Chennai Central and trains from south Tamilnadu get terminated at either Chennai Tambaram or Egmore.
Some trains from north and all trains from south Tamilnadu touch “Chengalpattu junction”, which is about 30km west of Kalpakkam and state transport buses like 108 & 157 connect Chengalpattu and Kalpakkam.
From Chennai, Koyambedu bus stand one can catch buses like 108, 118, 119 & 188 to come to kalpakkam. Buses going to Pondicherry via ECR road also have requested stop near Kalpakkam. It takes approximately 2 to 3hrs to reach Kalpakkam by bus and about 1 to 2hrs by taxi depending on the boarding point in the city.
Since office area is having restricted entry, all buses reach only to township area.
One should come to the main security gate situated about 5 km north of township to get proper entry to the lab area.
