Welcome to the Home of Metal Physics Section |
|
We specialize in atomistic characterization of Materials using Nuclear, Electron and Vibrational Spectroscopies.
Our research pertains to investigation of
¨ Metals, Alloys, Structural Steels ¨ Magnetic Materials ¨ Semiconductors ¨ Glasses
We use positrons, photons and electrons as probes of the medium and employ the following experimental techniques
· Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy (Bulk) - Defects, Precipitates, Radiation Effects
· Variable low energy positron beam (Surface) - Defects, Radiation Effects
· Time Differential Perturbed Angular Correlation (Bulk) - Defects, Structural and Magnetic Phase transitions
· Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (Bulk) - Vibrational modes, Phonons, Phase transitions
· Auger Electron Spectroscopy (Surface) - Elemental identification, Local Chemistry
