Our group is actively involved in the research area of MEMS and micro sensors. In the first phase we developed MEMS based Ultrasonic Transducers for NDT applications in collaboration with IISc, Bangalore and CEERI, Pilani. In second phase, in house designing capability of MEMS sensors is being developed using FEM simulation tools like Intellisuite, etc. A cantilever based mass sensor is being designed and tailored for enhanced sensitivity. Photo induced stress in micro cantilevers is studied experimentally.
Various commercial MEMS and micro devices are being explored for the possibility of novel applications. A wireless pressure sensor using a non-contact type differential variable reluctance transducer (NC-DVRT) interfaced with a single chip embedded PSoC design has been designed and fabricated. The major advantage of this sensor is that it can measure both positive and negative pressures and is completely independent of the pressure port allowing it to work in harsh environment.
We are also involved in embedded design for biomedical applications. One such program involved in development of Programmable Delay Timer Design for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulator (TMS) Synchronization for research and therapeutics in movement Disorders for Shree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCT). For SCT we have also developed MEMS Accelerometer based Wireless System for Measuring Severity of Various Movement Disorders such as Tremor, Bradykinesia, Gait Disorders, Parkinson’s Disease and Cervical Dystonia.
We also provide innovative design solution for electronics and automation of various research and development activities in MSG. We also offer consultancy for other R&D centers & universities in design automation and troubleshooting of sophisticated electronic equipments.
